AT Hike and overnight camping

Troop 159 had a great few days out camping and hiking near Bear's Den off the Appalachian Trail.  We split into two crews, one hiked 7.5 miles an the other hiked 10+ miles.  We met at Raven Rocks Overlook for lunch and enjoyed the scenery.

Deep Wood Cleanup

The troop helped keep Deep Woods beautiful this past Sunday by clearing brush and adding mulch to a new path.  This is part of our annual fundraising to keep event costs down.  Thanks for your help!

High Ropes Adventure

The troop had a blast at the Sandy Springs Adventure Park in Maryland this past weekend.  We completed the safety training and got rigged up for ziplines and obstacles hit up in the trees!

We're a very active Troop!

Troop 159 has been meeting virtually via zoom meeting as well as in person at many of our troop meetings.  Our in person meetings are outdoors and socially distanced at Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church.  We meet for Troop meetings every Monday evening, hours depend on daylight so please give us a call/email before you come.  All guests are welcome to join in the fun, but be sure to bring your mask!

William T. Hornaday Unit Award!

Posted on Nov 19 2019 - 7:35pm

Troop 159 was awarded one of scouts most prestigious conservation awards, the William T. Hornaday Award!  BSA calls it "An Olympic Medal Bestowed by the Earth" and scouting magazine says it's "One of Scouting’s rarest, most prestigious honors".  We're proud of the hard work our scouts put into this!
